Friends,

Can you please suggest the books that could help me ace the following topics on GMAT Quant :-

a) Number System & Properties ( Problem Solving)
b) Data Sufficiency Problems particularly related to Number System
c) Data Sufficiency Problems particularly related to Geometry.

I am scoring a Q47 on mocks currently and need to master the above topics to do well.

Please help !! Thanks !!

Hi Nachiket,

You're doing rather well in the Quant section (a Scaled Score of 47 is impressive even though the percentile doesn't make it appear to be so), and there are only so many additional points available on that "side" of the test. How are you doing in Verbal? If your goal is to score 700+, you'll need to pick up lots of points on that "side" of the test to hit that goal.

Hey Rich,

Could you please elaborate on what did you mean when you said "that side of the test" ? I did not get you completely. I am already working on my verbal but need to push my score in Quant to 50 or 51. In the last mock i got 14 questions incorrect in Quant out of which 11 questions belonged to Number properties and Geometry.

Hi Nachiket,

In real simple terms, there's a limit to how many points you can earn in either the Quant or Verbal sections. Your Quant Scaled Score (47) is at the higher end of the scale, so there aren't that many MORE points for you to gain in the Quant section. To score 700+, you have to do well in BOTH sections, so if your Verbal score is weak (or significantly weaker by comparison), then you'll have to put more time and energy into studying the Verbal.
