Friendly Fire

by sumanr84 » Thu May 20, 2010 4:10 am
The Confederate general Stonewall Jackson led a feared army that idolized him; they all mourned his ironic death from "friendly fire."
a. him; they all mourned his
b. him; they mourned his
c. him; it mourned his
d. him; it mourned their
e. him, it mourned his

[spoiler]Quite easy to spot the error at first shot. But my doubt is, shouldn't we use plural noun referring to each member of the entire army here instead of using Singular pronoun for Army. THEY looks more better here instead of IT, what say ?
OA : C

I am on a break !!

I choose C... Army is a collective noun which is singular.
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.
