people,

this might seem like an easy one for most of you but it kinda stumped me. if you could identify the steps you took to get at the answer that would rock.

2 + 2 + 2^2 + 2^3 + 2^4 + 2^5 + 2^6 + 2^7 + 2^8 = ?

A) 2^9
B) 2^10
C) 2^16
D) 2^35
E) 2^37

If you can identify the pattern then it becomes simple

2+2 = 2 ^ 2

2^2 + 2^2 (i.e 8) = 2^3 (i.e 8)

2^3 + 2 ^3 = 2 ^ 4

So on.. The answer should be 2 ^ 9. Is that the OA?

how can i spot these kinds of "patterns" in questions?

just add 2+2=2^2
2^2+2^2=2^3
like that.... 2^8+2^8= 2^9
some kind of easy thing..
