By approximately what percent he need to increase the weight of raisins that he buys.
any easy method to solve these kind of problems??
We can plug in our own values:
Initial price = $10/pound
Buys 3 pounds = 3*10 = $30
Price reduced 40% = $6/pound
Same cost means 30/6 = 5 pounds must be purchased
% increase = Difference/Original * 100 = (5-3)/3 * 100 = 2/3 * 100 = 66.67%.
