Which Books and Tests?

by Giorgio » Wed Apr 15, 2009 1:44 am
Hello everyone ,

I am new to this forum, I have tried to search but could not find any detailed description for studying materials.

Well I am Starting preparing for GMAT now , I have 7 months till the exam.

I am quite strong in mathematics and planning to score there as high as possible , but I face some problems in verbal part as English is not my first language.

I have Barron's book and have ordered OG 12th edition.

What are other books that can help me with my preparation?

I am planning to score in mid 700's , and going to work hard.

Also I have downloaded from mba.com 2 tests , I would like to collect some other Tests which will show me an approximate score, and where i stand.

Looking forward to hear some good advices.

Thanks,
Giorgio

As far as the books go you can find reviews of the books here -> https://www.beatthegmat.com/books.html

Practice tests - The best ones are the GMATPrep which you've already downloaded. If you buy the Manhattan GMAT SC guide (which is highly recommended) you'll be able to register online and access 6 of their practice tests for free plus a question bank containing 25 questions on SC.

I made a list here for me:

I have Ordered OG 12th edition already

I'm going to add :

Kaplan GMAT Premier Program, 2009 (Book & CD-ROM)

Sentence Correction Gmat Preparation Guide (Manhattan GMAT Preparation Guides)

Kaplan GMAT Advanced 2009-2010 Edition: Intensive Prep for Top Students.

But as I read reviews about Kaplan book, too many people argue that the book is full of errors and typos. Do you agree with this guys? cause i dont want to be mislead because of the stupid errors. does this book really worth buying?

Have you heard about EZ solutions? they have descent reviews on Amazon.
