Need your kind advice

by thack_raj » Tue Sep 29, 2009 12:04 pm
Hi

I have recently appeared for GMAT and got a Score of 520 ( Q: 47 V : 16 ), an unexpected score. I was doing the exam quite well only till the Quantitative section. But during the Verbal section, i was quite disappointed and didn't concentrate on the questions and spent more time on the initial questions and entirely goofed up that session. The reason is , since i predicted that i was not doing well , i lost my concentration and didn't come out of those thoughts. And one more important reason is, i did not have a good preparation before exam. I had just referred Kaplan and taken the GMAT prep exam only once. I am planning to reappear for the GMAT again. And this time, i will not repeat the mistakes i did. I am looking for this 2010 application schedule. And i need your kind advice, when is the right time to take GMAT again this year for Round 2. And what else materials i can refer ?

I assume you are interested in this fall's application cycle?

Assuming so, the timing for your next GMAT test really depends on the dates for when your R2 apps are due. R2 deadlines vary by schools, but normally occur between November and January. If you're seeking to retake the exam, I recommend taking it in October so you have at least a month to prepare your apps. I usually recommend NOT preparing for the test and simultaneously preparing your apps. I think these two activities should be taken separately, but if you're in a time crunch you might not have a choice.

With regard to materials, I recommend that you check out:
