I've read a few of the posts regarding the difficulty of MGMAT's CAT's vs. the difficulty of both GMATPrep and the actual GMAT, but cannot find information regarding the difference in verbal between the two formats.
I've taken MGMAT 1, MGMAT 2 and GMAT Prep 1 and received the following scores:
GMAT Prep 1
Q - 42
V - 44
T - 710
MGMAT 1
Q - 46
V - 34
T - 660
MGMAT 2
Q - 43
V - 39
T - 680
Further, I have almost completed the verbal section in OG12 (2 RC passages left, 14 SC Q's left and 8 CR Q's left) and have hit rates of 92% (CR), 97% (RC) and 96% (SC)
For some reason, I find the verbal questions in MGMAT's exams to be extremely difficult. The critical reasoning answers do not seem as cut and dry (some even seem illogical) as those in GMATPrep and the OG. Also, the SC answer choices in MGMAT's exams seem quite similar and in most cases hinge on one particular mistake. The questions that I've seen in both GMAT Prep and the OG seem to focus more on multiple issues, leading to a more definitive and clear answer choice.
Has anyone else seen this discrepancy in Verbal? I'm not sure how to proceed with my studies. I was extremely comfortable with my verbal and ready to focus on Quant, but now I'm second guessing that decision.
Thanks for the help.
