GMAT Score:710
Hi Stacy (or Lisa),

I recently applied to Ivey, Rottman and Schulich and I am curious what my chances are.

GMAT: 710

Undergrad: GPA 2.7, Bachelors of Science, Honours Biochemistry from McMaster University

Work exp: 1 full year pharmacoeconomics consulting as a medical writer and project manager

Extra exp: Part-time eco-consulting project management for golf courses, volunteering with special needs children, volunteering with hospital

My GPA is fairly low, but will I be able to get into any of these schools with my decent GMAT score and solid work references? How should I explain my low GPA?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Dear williammann,

Your GMAT score definitely helps to mitigate your GPA. Since your degree is in a tough major, your GPA is not as much of a weakness as it could be. It is possible you could gain admission to any of your three target schools depending on how strong your overall application is. Basically, your GPA, alone, is not enough to result in a rejection; the rest of your application is what will determine the ultimate decision.

Good luck,
Lisa
