Hi,
I am scorring in the range of 55 in Kaplan tests in the quant section.
However, I could not answer more than 30 questions (29 correct) in the GMATPrep.

Is the actual GMAT as tough (lot of DS questions) the GMATPrep ?
OR
At least tougher than Kaplan tests ?

I too scored 55 on Kaplan tests... That's impossible on test day, since you can't go higher than 51. Anyway, what I've noticed is that Kaplan focuses on straightforward math problems (i.e. they give you an equation and you're supposed to solve it), while on the real thing you'll see a lot of annoying word problems as well. I also saw about three statistics related problems on the GMAT and I recall I didn't see that many on Kaplan.

Overall, Kaplan is good for practice, but don't think for a second it's 100% like the GMAT. The verbal portion of Kaplan tests is not exactly GMAT-styled, so to speak. I found quite a few instances when I could have sworn that the answer was different...
