Hi all,
I am writing GMAT on 10th September 2008, i.e., about 10 days from now.
I have been preparing for GMAT for about 3 months, and presently, I am devising a time management strategy for the real GMAT exam by taking few mock exams. Please find below the list of mock exams that I have written till now:
2- 800 Score top (I found the exams as hard. Further, scoring was sort of weird)
1- GMAT Prep (730, Q:49, V:39)
Please find below my time management strategy for the exams:
QUANT
I invested about 45 - 50 minutes on solving the first 20 questions in this section. This was based on the assumption that accuracy is very important for the first 20 questions and one can compromise (only to an extent) on the accuracy in the later half of the quant section. Consequently, I was able to achieve reasonable scores in this section.
Please provide your inputs on the assumption. More specifically, is it true that minimizing errors in the first 20 questions is key to the success in the quant section ?
VERBAL
I tried to apply the same strategy (as described in the quant section) to the Verbal section. But, the strategy resulted in only around 33-35 attempts in 75 minutes with the remaining attempts as guesses. However, I noticed that my scores with 33-35 attempts were in the range between 37 and 41.
Accordingly, please provide your inputs on whether the strategy ( with a little fine tuning to attempt around 35-37 questions) is fine when it comes to actual GMAT ?
Moreover, in case you have any additional suggestions, please feel free to post.
Thanks and Regards,
Kshitij
