from 530 to 570 to...

by dwilliams05 » Tue Mar 31, 2009 2:14 pm
I've been on thsi forum as a visitor for a few months before I actually joined. I've seen some incredible stories and I've seen some similar to my own. I've taken the test twice and will be retaking it on 4/10/09. In my last three practce exams I score 560 (GMAT), 630 (Kaplan), and 570 (GMAT). My scores average to about what I did the last time and I am getting a little nervous about that. Are the GMAT practice CAT's from mba.com actually CAT or do they just give certain questions out of a large question bank?

I will say that the Kaplan book and some additional tools are helping me to conquer the verbal but my math has gone down from being int he 40's to the mid/upper 30's (another concern).

Any feedback on what I can/should do with my test date about a week and a half away?

Thanks

dwilliams05, I am assuming when you say 4/10/2009 you mean 10th of April.

Honestly speaking I dont think you have enough time before you take the exam. I would not recommend you to take too many tests or start preparing from another material, rather just revise from the course material you have already got. Studying from new material will do no good but just confuse you.

Lot of people tend to forget that the key to success on GMAT is not only your grasp on the syllabus but also your state of mind during the exam. Stay calm and relaxed even if you think you are not doing well - leave it to the software to mark your questions, you just concentrate on giving your best

All the best for your exam!!
