player at the school to slam dunk in a championship game, and inspiring
her teammates immeasurably.

IMO its correct.

She proved something by doing 3 things (scoring, becoming, inspiring). These three actions are in Parallel.
If the problem is Easy Respect it, if the problem is tough Attack it
