Among a group of 1,500 people, 44 percent invest in mutual funds, 22 percent invest in blue-chip stocks, and 12 percent invest in both mutual funds and blue-chip stocks. If 1 person is to be randomly selected from the 1,500 people, what is the probability that the person selected will be one who invests in blue-chip stocks but NOT in mutual funds?

A. 1/10
B. 3/25
C. 11/50
D. 8/25
E. 11/20

Now 22% - 12% = 10% invest in only blue chip stocks.
So the required probability is 10% = 1/10.

The correct answer is A.

22% of 1500=330
12% of 1500=180

330-180=150

150/1500=1/10
