Tough question. What is the source?

I believe the answer is D. The pronoun "it" clarifies the sentence.

You've posted several SC question recently that are dubious. WHY is there no OA? Where did you find these questions?

These are the questions from my homework set of my Coaching institute.
You can, for example never foretell what any one man will do, but you can say with precision what an average number will be up to!

@Rich All the SC questions I posted without the OA were for practice given by my Coaching Institute, somehow I ended up choosing 2 choices. I will be posting the OA soon.
