Struggling with SC in prep tests

by cah1b09 » Thu Jul 29, 2010 8:21 am
My GMAT is just a week away and I am struggling with SC questions in the pratice tests. SC has always been my week point, but interesting fact is - the score is deteriorating. I have ardently followed the OG for Verbal and practiced a lot on Kaplan an many other internet resources/softwares. Now whenever I write the practice tests, my confidence level is at the bottom for the SC. What is a quick fix because I know this is the only fix I have to have to push me up on the score. Thanks for your help.

Just concentrate on OG-10/11/12 problems for time being.
[ until you are confident with these problems, forget the other sources ]

It's been 6 months since I have started. Every other section are showing ray of light except SC.

Thanks Paes! While eliminating the choices 90% of the time I am stuck at the last two best solutions. When I check my answer it always appears that it was the other one. May be I am missing the finer details - this more specifically refers to the verb questions.

you are right, I was on the same point some time back. But now I am more confident, thanks to BTG.
Just remember, if you are stucking between 2 choices then it means you are going to screwed in the exam.
Generally in GMAT questions, it is easy to choose the best 2 -> but then getting the right one is really a challenge.

So here is my suggestion.

OG problems are great but explanations are not good
So if you are studying only from OG explanations then it is very difficult to learn the concepts
Almost every question of OG is discussed on this forum.
whenever you are not able to choose between the 2 choices then try to find out the explanation on this forum.
or put it for the discussion.

Thanks, I have a very little time for that. Wish I visited this place before. But I will surely refer to your advice.
