Hi,

Can anyone help me with the below SC question? Thanks.

A) Same

B) Besides transplants involving identical twins with the same genetic endowment

C) Unless the transplant involves identical twins, who have the same genetic transplant

I will go with C

In all sentences except C, it seems that comparison is between "transplants" and "patients" which is not parallel... the comparison should be between "twins" and "transplants"

Is the bold part in C, "Transplant" or "endowment"??

i think its a typo...

If it has endowment, which I presume, C is right

Here is my take

A. Unlike X, Y: X and Y should be parallel

meanining "Unlike transplants between identical twins....,all patients receiving heart"

Not parallel. Had it been " Unlike tranplants between idenitial twins...., heart transplants"..this is correct

B and D..Aside and besides do not fit the bill here..Infact, by saying "Aside" you are removing earlier part from comparison with rest of the statement

C with endowment is correct ans

Hi,

Apologies for the typo error. Option C should be "Unless the transplant involves identical twins, who have the same genetic endowment".

"C" is indeed the correct answer.

However, isnt the phrase "Unless the transplant involves identical twins, who have the same genetic endowment" referring to transplant? How do you see that it is referring to patient so that this option is parallel with the non-underlined sentence?

Or can I assume that "unless" acts like "except", both of which are non-modifiers?

I agree with everybody: C is correct because it has an indicative mood verb, which is the only way to "break" the wrong comparison between transplants and patients
