Are you sure you have the right OA? It doesn't make sense when substituted back into the sentence...

i agree with banker1, i believe the answer choices seem wierd.

out of the ones shown, i would choose C, between B and C.

I believe you guys are thinking the way i did but its not C. one of the trickier ones. wanted to know WHY though....

Given what you posted I'd go with C, but I know the OA is B.

Im slightly confused by your post above.. the original answer is B but I wanted to know Why B and not C or any other anser choice.

Sorry to confuse. I think you may have mistyped the answer choice B. "During" at the end of answer choice B does not make sense. The only thing remotely close to correct given your posted answer choices would be C, however we know C is not correct.

I looked up this question on another GMAT forum and found answer choice B without during at the end. In that instance (without "during") B makes sense to me. In the instance you posted (with "during") B does not make sense.

My apologies - have amended as required. Is there any reason why you would go for B and not C? It feels that changing should to will be does change the meaning of the sentence or am i being overanalytical / pedantic?

This isn't an official rule but in my mind I went with B because "determined" lends itself to something that will occur.

i.e.,
I determined I will take the GMAT in December.
vs.
I determined I should take the GMAT in December.

In order to use shoud I think there needs to be a less finite verb.

i.e.,
I think I should take take the GMAT in December.
vs.
I think I will take the the GMAT in December.

Does anyone have a more formal reasoning?
