Data Sufficiency : Sets

Fiona picks 30 apples and puts them in her basket. The apples have either one of two colors and either one of two flavors. She picks apples that are either red or sweet or both red and sweet. If there are 20 green apples in the basket, how many sweet red apples are in the basket?

(1) Of the apples in the basket, 26 apples are sweet.

(2) There are 4 red apples in the basket that are not sweet.

Answer given: D (Each statement alone is sufficient)

Please help in understanding the solution.

I think i got it.
First lets divide the problem into 4 situations.
1 - Red Not Sweet - RNS
2 - Green Not Sweet - GNS
3 - Red Sweet - RS
4 - Green Sweet - GS

1)
RS +GS=26
GNS +GS = 20
R +RNS = 10
RNS + GNS = 4
Hence, we have 4 variables and 4 equations. - SUFFICIENT

2) RS = 10 (total red apples) - 4 (red not sweet) = 6
SUFFICIENt

Hence, D
(Would never have thought this in 2 min)
