PR Test CAT 3 - Cheese CR

OA is B

Can E be a good contender ?

A store greatly increased its cheese sales by doubling the number of kinds of cheese it sold from the five most popular to the ten most popular. Now the store is considering expanding its selection to the twenty most popular kinds of cheese in hope of a similar gain in its sales of cheese.

Which of the following, if true, casts the most serious doubt on the efficacy of the store's plan?

a The store sells roughly equal amounts of the five most popular kinds of cheese.

b The ten most popular kinds of cheese account for almost all cheese sales worldwide.

c As consumers become more experienced, they are more likely to purchase more exotic cheeses.

d Some less popular kinds of cheese are less profitable because their shelf lives are shorter.

e Certain cheeses not currently sold at the store are available at other stores in the area.

Ashish,

E actually strengthens the argument.

Certain cheeses not currently sold at the store are available at other stores in the area.

So when the store plans to increase its selection to 20 kind of cheese, these may also get involved & would further increase the sales. E acts as strengthener.

Coming to B:
The ten most popular kinds of cheese account for almost all cheese sales worldwide.

There are 2 important keywords in this option . One is" for almost all cheese". It means almost everything and no scope anything new kind of material.

2.Worldwide: Even demographically also the existing 10 kinds of cheese have already occupied the market. So there is lee scope to accommodate new one.

So B acts as weakener.
