x=7 is incorrect. You can check your answer by plugging x=7 into the original equation:
2(7)+1/3+16=30 and 1/3
3(7)=21
30 and 1/3 doesn't equal 21..
The correct way to solve for x would be the following:
2x+1/3+48/3=3x
2x+49/3=3x
Why did you multiply the three here?
Just subtract 2x and you get x=49/3
solve for x
