Dear allenseraphim,

Based on the detail in your post, you have a competitive foundation for your MIM/MS Finance applications. I think your internships show you have sought professional experience and opportunities to practically apply your education--always a positive. To give yourself the best chance at these programs, be sure to put in significant effort to all application components as your essays, resume and interview are key to the decision. Likewise, choose your recommenders wisely--perhaps one (or both) from your internships?

Good luck,
Lisa

As for one of my research papers which has been published,I worked under a professor for almost an year hence I am thinking of getting one recommendation from him.
My major dilemma is that since I start working from 1st august at oracle financial services, hence by the time I fill up the forms & get the recommendation,I would have worked for just about 1 or 2months.
So should I take a recommendation from my employer (as the company is impressive: ORACLE financial services) or should I take the recommendation from the place where I did my internship?

I would definitely take your help in the further stages also while drafting my resume etc.

Your suggestion would be of great help for me.
thanks.

Your recommenders should have worked with you for close to or over a year. Depending on how closely you work together, shorter tenure could be fine, but less than 6 months might not be seen as enough time. I would pick recommenders who worked with you a substantial amount of time that they can comment on your skills and what it is like to work with you.

Lisa
