IMO B.

A. like his mother's... doesn't exactly specify mother's face and the same for wife.
C, D and E compares face and body to mother and wife

"model after " is the right idiom usage I think.
Hence B

I also chose 'A'. But OA is 'B'. Can you guys help me understand why A is wrong?

This is getting really frustrating. First of all, not a native speaker, then having to deal with the most absurd usages of the language - all this for management education? I can't be that bad at grammar. Sigh.
