Should I retake the test

by choubeyrid » Thu Jun 28, 2012 1:52 am
Hi all,
I took the GMAT test one month back and scored 680 (Q47, V33). In my practice tests (MGMAT and GMAT Prep) I had consistently scored 700+. Although on all my practice tests and also on the D-day timing was an issue. I usually finish my verbal section early; On the GMAT test day also I was left with 8 minutes and was on the last question of the section.

Today after a month's break I decided to restart the preparation so that I can re-appear for the exam after two months. I started with a practice test and again got a dismal score of 680 (Q47, V33). I was on the last question of verbal section with 7 minutes remaining.

I really need some suggestions as to whether I should retake the test or just be satisfied that I cannot score more than 680?

any kind of suggestions are most welcome.

Depends on where you are applying, but I would say you want to improve your verbal score to be a little more balanced - especially if you are applying to top programs.
