Sentence Correction - Help please

by mahesh7 » Tue Feb 24, 2009 12:18 am
hi

I have completed OG11, Manhattan SC and Kaplan Primer. I understand the rules given in Manhattan SC. However, I am only scoring 50% in SC on the GMAT prep tests. What can I do to improve this score? I would like to get to 85% in the next 6 weeks. I am taking the exam in April

Thanks
Mahesh

I am thinking that the timed environment is causing an issue for you. Make sure you know all the prescribed rules of GMAT SC. When you are reading the original sentence, check for the following:

1. Subject - verb agreement
2. Tense
3. parallelism
4. modifiers
5. idioms

try to eye-ball the answer choices to get an idea on what the differences are & which one is grammatically correct.

I think the trick to cracking GMAT is practice, practice, practice.....practice
