The first part of E seems fine enough (though you'd prefer some mention of the fact that the author is going to refute this belief.) But this line: the second is factual information that the scientist deems to be irrelevant to her argument. is incorrect. The fact that North America experiences summer at the same time that South America experiences winter is not irrelevant at all. It's the main evidence offered to refute the notion that distance from the sun determines the season.
