The owners of a business have decided to rewire the telecommunication lines throughout their headquarters. They would like to use fiber optic cabling, but are concerned about the cost. If they wait one year, the cost of a foot of fiber optic cabling will almost certainly increase by about 20 percent.
Which of the following would most strengthen the decision by the owners to wait a year to rewire the headquarters with fiber optic cabling?
a)If they wait longer than one year, the price of fiber optic cabling may increase even more.
b)If they choose to have the rewiring done now, a local contractor will discount any future purchases of fiber optic cables.
c) Over a third of the headquarter's office space will be sold off in the next year.
d) Production costs for fiber optic cables are expected to drop in about 18 months.
e) A new technique that is more cost-effective and of better quality than fiber optic cabling is expected to be on the market in about one year.
My answer E because they will not need it next year

A manager at a local theme park has proposed doubling the number of attendants at the park's entrance gates, claiming the new attendants will alleviate line congestion. The manager reasons that, since the wait times at the entrance will be reduced from about thirty minutes to ten minutes, more people will visit the park, and the increased revenue will offset the cost of the extra attendants.
Which of the following statements, if true, provides the best evidence that the park manager's reasoning is flawed?
a) People who leave the current long lines at the entrance already reduce wait times to some degree.
b) The lines at attractions inside the park already make the average wait times inside considerably longer than those at the entrance.
c) A majority of people who visit the park have season passes, allowing them to bypass the entrance.
d) Many visitors opposing the plan have indicated that they prefer congestion at the entrance to potential overcrowding inside the park.
e) Though the number of attendants will double under the manager's plan, the number of visitors might only increase by 25 percent.
My answer c as that would actually not help him earn more on revenues infact he will end up spending more on attendants.

For years, scientists have proposed the idea that Mars was once covered by two huge oceans. However, ridges of rock in the northern hemisphere that seem to resemble a shoreline are too hilly to be the edges of an ocean. If it could be shown that something caused an imbalanced portion of the planet's mass to shift from these ridges of rock toward the equator, where the mass now lies, it is possible that the ridges were once actually smooth.
Which of the following can be inferred from the statements above?
a)If it is determined that the ridges of rock in the northern hemisphere of Mars were never smoother than they now are, oceans did not exist on the planet.
b) The discovery that some of Mars' equatorial mass was once part of northern-hemisphere rock ridges would support the idea that the planet was once covered by oceans.
c) If the rock ridges in the northern hemisphere of Mars were smooth at one time, some the planet's mass was once closer to the equator
d) In order for a planet to have oceans, a portion of the planet's mass must have been shifted towards the equator.
e) There is general agreement in the scientific community that Mars does not have the right atmospheric conditions to support an ocean.
My answer a as it talks about ridges being smoother or not as that is the measure of presence of ocean..
Hi,
I am really concerned with CR as i get only minority of them correct .I do Veritas questions and end up making all choices wrong. The questions seem very tough to me.
Please help me with the this as i am very scared and worried.
