LSAT CR bible: Need some help

Hi folks,

An urgent request. I have 3 weeks remaining for my GMAT.

And I just had a glimpse of the LSAT CR bible. And boy, its pretty good.
The book is pretty exhaustive though.

Is there any particular way, I should read this book? Basically I have paucity of time and need to finish it in maybe max 2 days.

There are 13 question types. Should I study all of them?

If you're in a time crunch, I would suggest going through chapters 2 and 3 and really pay attention to the four family types in ch. 3. That will give insight on how to approach the questions. If you have time for one more chapter, I would read the Weakening chapter. The thing is though, any chapter after ch. 5, they will use diagrams, and you won't be familiar with what it means unless you go through their formal logic primer after ch. 5. I would still read the weakening chapter and just ignore any of the diagrams.

Also, with Must Be True questions these questions are generally questions where the stimulus doesn't have an argument. The correct answer is going to be one of the premises paraphrased. With Main Point questions, these questions will ask you to identify the conclusion (if one is given) or to choose the best conclusion from the answer choices. If a conclusion is given, with a main point question the answer will be the conclusion paraphrased, but be careful because common trap answers will be premises paraphrased. That is the basic summary of chapters 4 and 5. Good luck.

I have time for a few more chapters , but not the diagramming part...

which other chapters would you suggest?

I have gone through the ones you mentioned.

6, 8, and 9. Ch. 6 is like 60 pages, chapter 9 is pretty long as well. I would recommend at least going through chapter 8 because according to the CR Bible, those are the most tested questions on the GMAT.

I don't have this book specifically but the most important questions on CR are Find an Assumption, Draw a Conclusion, Strengh the Argument, Weaken the Argument (most important in my opinion). These will cover pretty much 90% of the CR questions during the GMAT.

If I'm not wrong, in one forum topic someone upload a summary of this book. Search for "Powerscore Critical Reasoning" or something.

Mate, thanks. I actually went through all 13 types and took notes to crack the types.

Since I have already gone through Manhattan CR + solved OG 10/11/12 as well as Kaplan Premier, I know the basic stuff.

Thought of LSAT CR to get some quick tips on cracking the harder questions.
And so it did.

I am now improving on my accuracy of CR.

LSAT CR is a GEM ....
