Hi All,

I am a non-native English speaker and quants in my strong area. I have been studying for GMAT for quite some time. My practice test score have been around 650. I am doing good in Maths section but still struggling in verbal.

Here are my last 3 score of Manhattan. (All with Essays). I even felt drained towards the end n all these tests.
1. 640 Q(48) V(30)
2. 670 Q(48) V(33)
3. 620 Q(47) V(29)

All exams were given on alternate weekend and during this gap I tried mainly on verbal. My performance on individual sections(20 questions of each type- Grammar, CR and RC) have been fairly good. Not sure what should I read and from where. Any help will be appreciated.

620 was quite heart breaking and almost gave up my preps. One of my friend motivated me and I have started again for just 2-3 days.

Let me give you a hint that helped me increase my score in verbal in some mock tests. Unlike quant, where clearly there is an answer right for a reason, in verbal you have to really find reasons for disqualifying the wrong answer. You have to become at finding out why a wrong answer is clearly wrong. There are many ways a good verbal answer can be right. So your best bet is to eliminate clearly wrong answers. This discriminating ability will get better the more and the more you practice. You will learn how to become a verbal GMAT surgeon this way. Dissect and disparage wrong answers!

Thanks. I will try to apply this on my next test.
Can you suggest me some good study material for verbal?
