Ok, I've been consistently studying since middle of September. It's getting close to 3 months and my exam date (12/11/08).

I have definately hit the road block this week... Not only I scored horrible on my Kaplan CAT test, I just can't focus. My mind is so tired and I feel like I just don't know anything anymore. My confidence level went from high 600 level to low 600 right now.. (if that makes any sense).

I have exam in 2 weeks now. I can't rest myself to just take a break from it because I feel like I'm not ready to meet my goal, yet I am so tired I'm making CARELESS mistakes all over the test.

I would answer
x+y = 3, x=3, y= INSUFFICIENT! I mean, I can't solve 1+1! (well.. exggerating, but you get the idea...)

I am hoping to gain your wisdom. I find myself losing confidence from getting silly problems, yet I know that I'm far better position than I really am. How do I deal with this? have you guys experienced this before?

Thanks for all your help

hi pal,

I hear you!
I am going through exactly same phase.
I started my prepration in september and used to score easily above 600 on kaplan & 640-ish on Mgmat.

And now, when exam is only a week left...I am making stupid mistakes...score went down to as low as 550, 510, etc!!

I guess the best strategy at this point would be to keep practicing with calm mind...coz remember GMAT becomes more of a mind game in the end.

I m trying to stay calm & focused too. A lot depends on this exam!

good luck...

I am sure this happens to most of us if not all (there are a few that are gifted)

The key like one of the other user pointed out is to not to loose confidence and develop the persevearance to keep working hard. In addition I would write down these problems where u made a silly mistake and then revisit them every once in a while (solve it) so that u can remember the mistake u made each time. This way the next time u see this problem u wont.
