Taking GMAT Prep 1 and 2

by dhonu121 » Sun Jun 17, 2012 9:05 am
Hi,
I have taken GMAT PREP 1 and 2 once and I got desired scores both the times on the test.I am thinking of taking the test ASAP. Will it be useful to retake both these tests as quite a number of questions might have been left unused ?

Or should I try some other tests(MGMAT) before taking the REAL DEAL ?
Kindly suggest me considering this to be my last sprint for the preparation.

THanks in advance.

If you've already exceeded your target score twice on 2 different official practice tests, I can't see any reason to wait any longer. It sounds like you know your stuff!

Cheers,
Brent

Thanks Brent.
I have already taken a date now. I was a little skeptical earlier, even though I got desired scores both the times on GMAT PREP. Because of the nature of the exam, even if you get what you desire, you keep feeling like you are not ready.
Lets see how it turns out next week.

Try not to let any doubts/skepticism creep into your mind.
Confidence is a key ingredient in GMAT success, so keep reminding yourself that you possess the skills needed to reach your target score!

Nops.
You'll have to google them.
There are plenty of explanations available on the web.

The BTG website is the best place to get answers to GMATPrep questions. Just use the search field, and you'll find that every question has been answered multiple times.

Hi Brent,
Could you please tell what should be the recommended time in the GMAT timer while attempting the quant and verbal sections for each 10 set of questions ?

This will be really helpful, as sometimes, even though I am doing just fine as far as the timing is concerned, I become anxious and screw up my temperament.

Thanks in Advance.

For 10 math questions you should spend 20 minutes. For 10 verbal questions you should spend 18:00. These are recommended times on the basis of how much time you have to finish the exam as whole. Try working it out as a practice proportion problem!

Hi dhonu121,

If you're interested, I created a video on the topic of time management: https://www.gmatprepnow.com/module/gener ... es?id=1244

The strategy involves the use of a milestone table to help you quickly gauge whether or not you're on track at various times throughout the test.

Cheers,
Brent

Awesome Brent,
That was exactly what I needed.I feel glad having asked you this question.
I would surely use that table. I will create that table during a few minutes time that I hope to get in the AWA section. ;)
