As someone that has taught MBAs and EMBAs at Kellogg-HKUST for years and continues to do so for custom programs in many countries, I would argue that an MBA really makes sense only under very specific circumstances: one being that it is from one of a particular set of schools; another that the price is just right. Otherwise, it is too risky. Moreover, I forecast that, in the future, business schools may no longer grant "MBAs" as we know them to be defined, but will instead offer modular, mentorship based programs where students work closely with business leaders and continue this education well beyond graduation.
