How long does it take to write essays?

Hey all,

I'm applying to the top-20 schools for full-time MBA in R2. I'm reading Paul Bodine's book and what scares me is the number of do's and do not's, some seemingly contradictory, that he has in each chapter and some essays that make you question your own chances.

I'm at a stage where I've done writing my Life down and have started researching the essay answers.

My question is "How long does it usually take from first draft to final draft, without using any consultants etc"? Please share your experiences.

Hi

Pareto is true here as well.
Once you have done the complete self diagnostics and put your life on paper, its just one fourth of work left.
I personally like to explore the college and admits to see what kind of projections they love.
There will be a factory of things ready and you will be ready for positioning and branding to pass on the special message through your essays.
Do the activities in steps. First decide what you will put and then what you will emit.

Then refine and refine. The process is simple though at stages it will require information about what is liked and what makes it look jammed.

Do refining by yourself or take help of some well wishers.

Put one day on each essay.(3-4 hours)
Refine it another day. (famous quote is to write 4 pages and forget,come back next day and refine)

Its rigorous but it returns handsomely.

Well, to be honest, there's no real answer here. It depends a lot on how you write, how well, how fast, how meticulous you want to be. I would say a good margin from first to last is about 3-4 weeks. So you can put it away, re-read it, show it friends, rewrite again, etc.
