To be divisible by 12, n must be divisible by 2 twice plus 3.

1) To be divisible by 6, n must be divisible by 2 and 3. - doesn't tell us that we can divide by 2 twice
2) to be divisible by 4, n must be divisible by 2 twice - doesn't tell us that n is divisible by three

combining, n must be divisible by two twice plus a 3, therefore it must be divisible by twelve
