This is a good problem to solve try it

If n is a non-negative integer such that 12n is a divisor of 3,176,793, what is the value of n12 - 12n ?

12^n is divisor of 3176793
12 is even number, and 3176793 is odd
thus 12^n should be 1 (and thus n=0)
n^12 - 12^n = -1

i spent 15 mins for this question because it is not understandable from the question stem that 12.n is explonantial!! so it is NOT 12n but 12^n.

I got the correct version from "cans" reply post...
The more you suffer before the test, the less you will do so in the test! :)

You are right. I wonder how Cans deciphered 12n as 12^n ?

because there are few who may get it right and there are those who may find it difficult
it is for the latter ... so you can ignore

How can 12^n (n=+ve number) be a divisor of ____3, an odd number ? :( I am not sure whether the question makes sense. The only possible value that I see is n=0. but n is non-negative number...

I don't like to sound like a jerk, but this question was typed out in a very confusing way. I assumed 12n = 12*n. I'm not sure people can learn and posters can benefit when questions are not correctly retyped.

"0" is neither positive nor negative integer.
"0" is a non-negative integer.
"0" is also a non-positive integer.
