I assume that you did not count "1"
Remainder is 1 when 1 is divided by 3.

1 + 16 number has remainder 1

Thanks. I used (3n+1); the maximum value of n=16 to satisfy the condition. I should have used n=0 also to get the remainder 1 or followed the approach you suggested.
But works for now!
