3 hrs < 5hrs
Therefore, in one hr, the hot and cold water fill, 1/3+1/5=8/15
So, Remaining will be filled in 7/8hrs = 52.5 mins
So total time= one hr + remaining
1+52.5
Now u compare this to each of the answer choices, II will not hold true.

PLease have this confrimed, but in my opinion is the angles of a triangle are equal then the triangles are SIMILAR to each other which means they are proportionate to each other. The qtn says that the area of one if half the other, therefore instead of solving anything u can assume,S=2s

Let a = area of small triangle and A=area of big triangle
h = height of small triangle and H = height of big triangle
2a = A
2*(1/2)*s*h = (1/2)*S*H
2*s*h = S*H
S=2*s*(h/H)
but any two ratios are the same (prove if you want) so
h/H = s/S
S=2*s*(s/S)
S^2=2*s^2
S=root(2)*s
