VERITAS two day GMAT Quant Focus class

by D Terman » Wed Jul 09, 2008 8:23 am
Has anyone taken the VERITAS two day GMAT Quant Focus class and if so, could you please give me your recommendations. I see it priced on-line for $700.00 for a 18 hour two day class and was wondering if it was worth it.

I got a 460 on my first GMAT, and a 620 (V41, Q34) on the second pass and have scheduled to take it again August 18th and any advice on how to improve my Quant would be greatly appreciated. I'm working through the Kaplan Math Workbook right now.

Below is my original post.

Thanks all!

Congratulations - that is impressive indeed going from a 400 score to a 600 requires a lot of work. Your verbal score is very awesome too.

One of my recommendations for Quant specifically the DS part would be reading the Princeton Maths (if you havent already done so). It explains the concepts beautifully, and will help you pick up your score in case you are weak in that area.

Do identify your weakness in quant - is it %ages, ratios, DS?? Once you know which area troubles you, itwill be easier to provide you with help on how to fix it.

Its great to see the optimism with which you are going to write the GMAT again, sure hope that you get the score you want.

All the best,

Hi D,

It sounds like you would get a lot out of our course. The quant weekend is a bit tough for people with limited math backgrounds since it moves pretty quickly, and it doesn't give time to practice the fundamentals before moving on to true GMAT math. However, if you're scoring in the mid-30s, you have that background already and might just need some guidance on tricks and strategies.

I teach the quant weekend a few times a year, so let me know if you have questions about what to expect, etc.
