A certain store found that last year the avg. monthly sales from January through Oct. was 12,000. In Nov-Dec the monthly sales were 3 & 5 times respectivly the avg for the other 10 months. What was the store's avg monthly sales last year.

a. 180,000
b. 216,000
c. 252,000
d. 318,000
e. 360,000

avg of Jan - Oct : 12000 (for each month)
so, avg of Nov : 12000 x 3
avg of Dec : 12000 x 5

That means, the average monthly sales is [(12000 x 10) + (12000 x 3) + (12000 x 5)] /12 = (12000 x 18) / 12 = 18000.

This is what I got as well.
I guess all the answer choices have extra zeroes.
