Let's take each statement one by one.

1) The average weight of the men was 150 lb.

We only know the average weights of men and women. Can't determine the percentage of women competitors. Insufficient.

2) The average weight of the entire group was twice as close to the average weight of the men as it was to the average weight of the women.

Close the average of one group to the group average, proportionately larger the count of the group is. Thus, given that the average weight of the entire group was twice as close to the average weight of the men as it was to the average weight of the women, the ratio of men : women :: 2 : 1.

The correct answer: B

Hope this helps!
