HI need help...

I took my GMAT today and i got 530!

my quant scores are: 45(scaled)
verbal scores: 19!!!!!!!


I have tried consistently to improve my verbal score, with no luck!!!
I need help.. As i plan to take my gmat again next month.. Could someone help me on this one!!!
Is one month enough to improve my verbal scores?

Sorry about test ! . In order to advise anything , first of all , can you let us know what prep you did and how you fared in your Practice tests ? .. If you did good in verbals in practice but fared badly in actual test then reasons got to be n . But if you never had a good verbal score in any practice test in first place , then , simple advise is to start from basics..pick up OG , go thru them and identify SC rules , CR structuress , etc...

But if you can share bit more info on your prep level so far then it would be helpful for ppl to advise something more meaningful

In my practice tests i wasnt doing greeat, but was scoring betn 25 and 30.. I knew I had a weakness with verbal.. But i thought if i maintained that range it would be enoughfor me to get into the mba program i am looking for. I am an engineer.. So math wasnt that hard for me.. but definatly I can improve my math a lil more..
I have done all the OG books.. It was like i blanked out in the test.. My time management was poor.. I was doing everything wrong... I was in the 20th question by the time I had 20 mins left ...:(....
I could recognize nething or understand nething!!!!

Any books that u suggest? I am Indian.. So english is not my first language.. I am really disheartened..

Well there are couple of things you can focus on for Verbal

1) Assuming you have probs in all sections , just try to get to basics of getting into concepts first

2) Pick up any reputed book ( OG for e.g) and study it , try out problems and when you make a mistake analyze why you made that mistake . Learn why you made that mistake and what the correct answer says and what concept was tested there . Thats where you got to have your TAKEWAY---> Log this lesson as a note into your Notes.. FOr SC dont miss learning from Manhattan SC .

3) For CR , i suggest you pick up Powerscore CR bible . Its very exhaustive and explains you all nuts and bolts of CR .Key again here is focus on concepts..Then try out OG problems and learn from your mistakes you do same as point (2) above

4) RC , no real specfic rule i can suggest as its very subjective . But tackling RC in GMAT is not just about reading . Its about comprehending what you read . You should look at Big Picture and focus on main idea than on finer details while reading RC . Try to focus on aspects like , why this passage has been written and what author is trying to tell you . Make an outline of the entrire passage . You can google some greats posts by RON/STACEY on how to master RC in this forum . They have some real expert advise . Kaplan Verbal Book also seems good at this . You can try .

You need to build up strategy for attacking each section in Verbal and once you practice more and more you will come to recognize certain patterns . This can help you in building up your strategy .

Having said all that , GMAT is a mind game and your attitude matters a lot while attacking it .But good news is , GMAT is all about smart thinking and building strategies and once you are equipped with all such tip,tricks , strategies , concepts you can crack and beat it
