Technically, “quicksand” is the term for sand that is so saturated with water as to acquire a liquid’s character.
1. that is so saturated with water as to acquire a liquid’s character
2. that is so saturated with water that it acquires the character of a liquid
3. that is saturated with water enough to acquire liquid characteristics
4. saturated enough with water so as to acquire the character of a liquid
5. saturated with water so much as to acquire a liquid character
Not sure on how we get to the OA on this one. I understand that so X as to Y idiom implies that Y seems to be true but isn’t actually happening and thus here it is wrong because quicksand actually does acquire the characteristics but why is option C wrong?
Isn’t it clearer to say liquid characteristics than the character of a liquid? Since quicksand would acquire characteristics and not character. Could you please explain this?
