Option A: Wrong
This is affirming that the logic used by writer is such that it does not make much sense to the reader such that he can't fathom how to rewrite the main clause in a way that tells it revolutionizes the sentence formation whilst retaining the content description.

Option B: Wrong
This statement is entirely wrong in that it seeks to adjudge that holding a compulsive view about virtue means out rightly that you're always putting up a strong defense against opposing views. it ought to have been a weak argument is supposition.

Option C: Right
This is in actual sense a statement that makes a lot sense. It describes the position of the writer that it's based on supposition, that it's a likelihood, that it isn't wholly a fact and that it is subject to softening of the supposed rigidity. The use of ''may'' comes handy here.

Also, let's have a look at option E. From this option the statement is talking on something different from the writer's views. It's doesn't make meaning contextually, it's off the hook and lacks grammatical intuition.
