The banana has been an important food source in Bengali cuisine for decades, and it is still used in many Bengali dishes, in which the fruit, stem, and even the flower are incorporated into meals today.

1. it is still used in many Bengali dishes
2. it is still used in a Bengali dish

Which of the above two is the right answer?
A kudos or thanks would do great if my answer has helped you :)

First is right. The first sentence shows that banana is still used in many dishes however second sentence (use of simple present) shows that in every dish banana is used.
