Many financial analysts consider an upward trend in a firm's current ratio a sign of improving liquidity.
1.) a sign of
2.) as a sign of
3.) to be a sign of
4.) a sign of their
5.) as being a sign of

I am confused between 1 and 3. This will help me understand the correct usage of the idiom.

IMO C based on idiomatice usage consider to be X.

'Consider as' is almost always wrong so B and E are out.

Very nice question:
1) Consider X Y ;
2) Consider to be;

Both are correct

IMO A.
First take: 640 (50M, 27V) - RC needs 300% improvement
Second take: coming soon..

according to Manhattan SC Guide, the correct idiom is

Consider X Y (without "to be")

Consider as is not the correct idiom.

I missed 'as' in my post and have updated the same.

Why not C?

It is just ; Consider X Y > consider to be... I know this is vague but please copy paste this 'rule' .. :)
