Long-time California highway engineers say that in no period did the Pacific Coast Highway take a worse battering than it did in the winter and spring of 1983, nor was there a greater mud slide in the region than the one that ocuured on May 2, 1983.

(B) had the Pacific Coast Highway taken a worse battering than it did in the winter and spring of 1983, or
(C) has the Pacific Coast Highway taken a worse battering than it had in the winter and spring of 1983, or
(D) did the Pacific Coas Highway take a worse battering than it had in the winter and spring of 1983, or
(E) did the Pacific Coast Highway take a worse battering than it has in the winter and spring of 1983, nor

Please make a habit of underlining the sentence which needs to be corrected..............it's very difficult to do a healthy discussion if the sentence is not underlined
