Option A:
Comparing small cars now and any other time..
How are you comparing.. ? fuel efficiency

Small cars " more fuel efficeincy" now than any other time

All other options: We are comparing "more fuel efficent small cars" now than "more fuel efficency cars" any other time..
This is not logical.

MFESC now than other time .. > how are we comparing?? no answer...

If you guys observed there is a More A than B statement

More Fuel Efficient Now than at any time...

This is correct as we are comparing fuel efficencies in the two times NOW and in their production history!

If you closely interpret.
B conveys as if the same cars that were not fuel effecient before has turned out to become fuel effecient now. (Which is not true)

But in reality , cars produced now are more fuel effecient than cars which were produced long before .. This contrast is necessary to make the meaning clear. (C conveys this)

Jus interpret closely and see you will feel it.

Hope it is clear :) .. all the best.

TODAY and NOW are redundant. So, A and E are gone
In B, THEY signifies what. CARS or MANUFACTURERS. So, B gone
D signifies MORE CARS are manufactured. But we need CARS which are MORE fuel effiecient. D gone.
Hence, C is correct.

I too originally chose (A). But after some dissecting, it appears that (A), (B), and (D) use the possessive pronoun "their", which has no clear antecedent. It seems to refer to "cars" rather than "manufacturers", since the noun "cars" is closer. Therefore (C) appears to be the correct answer.

I don't agree with C.

small cars <that are more fuel-efficient> than those at any other time in

"more fuel-efficient " modifier restricting small cars -->

sentence is like

Small Cars type X than "those" <Small Cars type x? any other time.

What are you comparing here..?? C is ruled out.

A should be the answer.

Any other takers.
