1. 75 - n > n - 50
2n < 125
n < 62.5
Since N lies to the left of the mean of 50 and 75, it will most definitely be closer to 50 than to 75.
SUFFICIENT

NOTE: In fact just looking at the inequality should be enough to realize that the distance of n from 75 is greater than its distance from 50. So it is closer to 50.


2. n>60
61 closer to 50, 70 closer to 75. INSUFFICIENT

Any quick approach?
(1) 2 n < 125 or n < 62½ and 62½ is halfway (in other words, equidistant) from 50 and 75 on the number line, so when n shifts leftwards, the value of n is closer to 50 than to 75. YES, sufficient

(2) When n > 60, n could be closer to 50 than to 75 until n < 62½, but afterwards n would be closer to 75 than to 50 until n reaches 75. [spoiler]Can't say, insufficient

The Q does not rule out negative values of n, does it ? Unless u exercise option 2.
