Take Course of Buy Books

Hey guys,

I posted here earliler and after some research I'm a little torn between taking one of the courses at Kaplan (and reinforcing at home taking free prep tests) or getting the books and studying by myself and taking those prep tests.
I was thinking of doing both but that would definitely be very expensive. I was reading that the ManhattanGMAT prep books were awesome and that people usually improve their scores a lot (I scored 530 on the GMATprep 1 before any prep at all).
Please help I need advice!

It depends on your goal. I self-studied with the Manhattan Guides and scored a 680 on my first attempt. I wanted above a 700, so I took a class with Veritas Prep, and scored a 730 on my second attempt. I think if you would be satisfied with a 650 ish, then just self study, if you want to break into the 700s, I would recommend taking a course with Veritas Prep. Good luck.
