If v and w are different integers, does v = 0?

1. vw = v^2
2. w = 2


In the fraction x/y, where x and y are positive integers, what is the value of y?

1. The least common denominator of x/y and 1/3 is 6
2. x=1

Question 1) Answer should be A

St 1) vw = v^2

Since V cannot be = W
for VW = V^2
V has to be 0

St 2 - Gives no info on V so not enough

Question 2) Answer is E

For LCM to be 6 Y can be 6 or 2

Thanks guys. I overlooked the clause about v & w being different integers for the 1st question, and for the second one I didn't see the trap that 6 could also have been the a choice for the LCM. Gotta be more careful with these problems!
