GMATPrep Score vs. Actual Gmat

Just wondering how high the correlation is, I know there are a lot of variables to take into account.

I took my first Prep the other day and scored a 580, which is right in my range of what I need (preferably a 600+)

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are as to how accurate these are, how much they change, etc.

My test is friday.

Generally speaking, you can expect your real score to be within about 50 points of your GMAT Prep. I've certainly had students do much better (and much worse, unfortunately!), but yes, if you scored 580 on GMAT Prep, the chances are good that your actual score will be around 580.

The standard error of measurement for the real GMAT is 29 points, and while it's a little wider for the GMATPrep software, it's not that much more.

If you need a 600+, you are close already and might even be able to hit that with no further work, but also keep in mind your true score could be as low as 540-550 (but hopefully not!) and test day anxiety may complicate things as well. Better to over-prepare out of caution!

When are you taking your exam? That information would help us give some advice on how to prep from here.
